Why You Should Be More Active in the Equipment Dealer Association

Are you involved in the EDA and/or your equipment dealer association? Some dealer associations seem to be struggling with engagement. I wonder why is this.  We’ve regularly attended at least 4 regional or national equipment dealer association events a year for the last twenty years, and think if you’re not participating it’s time to reconsider.

Over the last few years, equipment dealer association have made a concerted effort to engage members and add value to the work they do in the agriculture equipment industry. Here are some of the significant improvements we’ve noticed in the equipment dealer association.

  • In the last four years, the events have become far more informative and relevant. They regularly include technology updates, leadership presentations, (including renowned economists like Brian Beaulieu and Ann Duigan), and provide legislative updates along with other great content.
  • The boards of several of the associations are being handed off to the next generation. This new blood has helped rejuvenate the equipment dealer association and their ways of thinking.
  • Associations are embracing digital media. All of the associations are migrating to electronic media for their weekly updates and newsletters. Both the EDA and regional associations are in the process of or have already updated their websites. They understand the importance of digital channels and are investing in their online presence.

Please consider renewing your membership to your equipment dealer association if you’ve let it lapse.
