Nestled in the heart of Southside Virginia, Crewe Tractor has been a cornerstone of the community for over 65 years. This family-owned and operated dealership, founded in 1952 by Butch Taylor, has been lovingly passed down through generations. Today, his grandsons, Trey and Parker Taylor, steer the helm, continuing a legacy of trust and quality in the ag equipment industry.
Their journey of innovation took a significant leap forward when they decided to overhaul their outdated POS system. Rebecca Carr, the personal assistant to the owner, played a pivotal role in this transformation. The integration has enhanced their dealership operations, automating processes and freeing up time to focus on what matters most—their customers.

How do you use ASPEN day-to-day?
Rebecca: “I use it every single day. We switched over about a year or so ago, and we’re still in the works of doing everything we can with the company to use ASPEN as it needs to be done.
We use it for customer bases and invoices, Net 30s, work orders, warranties, and everything else we can possibly do.”
What was the reason for switching to ASPEN?
Rebecca: “Honestly, our old system has been with us since day one. When we opened the company, it was an old POS system from the dinosaur ages. Our first owner left the company and partnered with ASPEN and Charter Software, so I did a bunch of research with different companies to see, and we thought that partnership was the best for us, too.
What’s your favorite feature in ASPEN?
Rebecca: “I love how many options there are. There are so many different things that you can do with it.
I love that we can do anything, so I’m not using multiple different programs. I’m not using an accounting software program. I’m not using paper. I’m not using employment programs. I can do everything within the program.
ASPEN is one and all, and that was the number one reason why I wanted to use it.”
What advice would you give to someone who’s looking for a dealership management software?
Rebecca: “If you take the time to do the training, if you take the time to learn, if you are willing to understand that technology has come a long way and that it can be so beneficial for your business and your program, then it’s totally worth it.
But you have to put the time in yourself to get something out of it.”
